Reducing the Effectiveness of Phishing Campaigns by 90%

A small organization was consistently falling victim to phishing emails.

This organization had about 100 employees, and several incidents where Microsoft authenticate had to be reset because employees fell victim to phishing emails that compromised their user credentials.

We had to develop a way to stop malicious emails from entering the organization and educate the users on handling unfamiliar emails.

We added software to add to our Microsoft 365 that would be an additional layer for email protection. We could also turn on extra features inside of Microsoft 365 to help reduce spam and phishing emails. Finally, we instated a comprehensive security awareness training program that will properly educate and provide phishing tests to all users.

With the software and additional settings inside of 365, the number of spam and phishing emails was significantly reduced inside the organization.

After these steps and the implementation of Security Awareness Training, we were able to bring the click rate of phishing test campaigns from the initial 32.5% click rate to consistently under 3%

That is a 90% Improvement!
