Scenario: Health Care Organization has all their data inside their physical walls, and all the servers are on prem.
The organization must develop an alternate site to store data and locate servers. Options include having an additional location or moving to the cloud. Since all servers are already virtualized, the decision was made to move to the AWS cloud.
Tasks-
1-Build out an AWS cloud environment to migrate the virtualized servers from the onsite to the AWS cloud.
2-Migrate all backup datasets to S3 storage inside the AWS cloud.
The successful migration happened over a span of 6 months and provided benefits from scalability and reliability while using the AWS cloud. Moving the backup data to AWS also provided the organization with additional fault tolerance and redundancy they did not have while keeping the data in-house.
